Memphis has been labeled “the hungriest city in America.” Every Friday our teams come together to pray and carpool to five local North Memphis schools, to serve children affected by Food Insecurity. Each child receives a bag with simple meals and/or snacks to be eaten throughout the weekend. Once we’re at the schools, we unload the food bags from the Serve trucks and prepare to greet the kids with lots of smiles, encouragement, high fives and hugs, as we hand out bags to every child. Team Members need to wear their red SERVE shirt.
Feed Memphis teams meet each Friday (September through May) at various locations of The Life Church.
Kingsbury Elementary Team – 2pm
Douglass K8 Team – 3pm
Jackson Elementary Team – 2pm
Wells Station Elementary Team – 2pm
Vollentine Elementary Team – 2pm
Treadwell Elementary – 2 pm
If you are unable to serve on Fridays, but would like to participate in blessing these precious children, you can serve on a Feed Memphis support team:
Feed Memphis Prep
Thursdays at 6p – Houston Levee, Germantown Parkway and Highland locations
These teams meet to sort inventory and fill food bags for the children we feed weekly. They are the behind-the-scenes heroes that enable our Friday Feed Memphis Teams to be successful!
You can also give online or bring the following items and place them in our donation bins at The Life Church locations on the first weekend of the month: The cost to fill a bag for one child is approximately $7/week.
